The ‘Stoned on Love’ Stage was a the new name given to the old ‘Weller’ stage and comes from a fantastic one day event run by “Walthamstow’s finest” Tom McQ in Camden, at the beginning and end of the festival season.Tom turned up as a +1 with Jake Morley back in 2008 at the first festival and his link to other musicians in and around London has been fantastic in getting some of the most amazing up & coming talent down to ToneFest.
Tom runs this stage now for me with the help of Rowan and crew and it is so wonderful to have such a good team in this marquee, it is such a unique stage and probably what I am most proud of. For those that haven’t been before, the stage is turned into a Front Room and the marquee, filled with three piece suites, big armchairs and even a massage chair in 2011. I call this marquee the ‘Free Peace Suite’. Lofty and team get to work each year building the set on the stage and each year, we plan to add more and more to it to make it feel more and more like you playing in someone’s huge lounge.
As well as the most amazing music in the most unique environment, the Free Peace Suite also hosts wonderful fresh Coffee and home-made Cream Teas. What better than to sit down, eat, drink and listen to fab music..... Perfect!
