SHOEBOX APPEAL In Conjunction with The Rotary Club of Great Britain
Thank you for your interest in helping us with our collection of Shoeboxes for the Rotary Club’s appeal.
The appeal brings joy to some of the very poorest children in the world who have very little pleasure in their lives and who, in most cases, live in circumstances beyond our comprehension.
We think it appeals to people’s sense of giving at an appropriate time of the year which we hope will bring a good response for this ToneFest/Rotary Club appeal.
The following must apply to the contents of your shoebox:
1. All Items in the shoebox must be ‘NEW’ or in ‘AS NEW’ condition.
2. A list of what not to pack and a suggested list of what to include for each age group to guide you in your choice of contents is shown below and on the downloadable form below.
3. A £1 Donation should be taped to the Gender/Age Group Card (attached to the downloadable form below).
4. Shoeboxes must be delivered to the ToneFest Office by November 10th 2011. 5. If you are doing more than one shoebox, please try and vary the age ranges, to ensure the Rotary Club have a good variety for all ages.
Please DO NOT Include:
Battery Powered Items, War Related Items, Large Clothes/Shoes, Religious/Political Books Food Of Any Kind, Liquids Of Any Kind, Sweets Of Any Kind, Medicines, Large Toys, Sharp Items.
Some Ideas of What To Include:
Toys such as ‘Matchbox’ type toy cars, small bouncy balls, jigsaws, fluffy toys, dolls, colouring books, felt tip pens, Lego, yoyo’s, bubbles, hats, scarves, gloves.
Teenagers- Please remember boxes for teenage boys and girls up to the age of 18. Such as: make-up, toiletries, sportswear, scarf, gloves, hat, writing materials, deodorants, comb, mirror, football memorabilia, etc
1. Choose whether you want to make a Shoebox for a Boy or Girl and select the Age Range. Cross out all other options on the label included on the downloadable sheet on this page.
2. Get a Shoebox and cover the top and the bottom in wrapping paper.
3. Fill the box with ‘nice’ things.
4. Cut out the Label above and attach £1 to it.
5. Place the Label inside the box and place an elastic band around the top and bottom sections of the shoebox. 6. Email shoebox@tonefest.co.uk to arrange collection or delivery by November 10th 2011.
